Playstation 3 Freezes when I press start while I play Resistance: Fall of Man?

When i play RFoM and press start, the game freezes. No buttons work nor does the PS button let me go to home screen. The only way to fix it is to turn it off with the power button on back or hold down power button on the front and restart ps3. Also, i tryed other games and they all work fine and i also returned the game to Best Buy to get another copy and this one still freezes. Any help would be awesome. I tryed looking throught forums but I got no help. Thanks

The answer is always the same, the blu-ray drive is busted. You have to send the PS3 to sony

Does Resistance 2 play Like Resistance fall of man(Playstation 3 Ps3 )?

I played resistance fall of man and it sucked. The shooting was odd and the melle looked pasted on. Does resistance 2 fix that or does it play the same way.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the controls are slightly different. I do own Resistance 2, but not Resistance: Fall of Man
