Xbox 360 Game Review: Resident Evil 5

I am a big fan of Resident Evil. Remember to pay extra just to get the first installment in Resident Evil my original Playstation a week before anyone else. There have been many episodes and incarnations since then, and although I had become a little bored of the series in the years from the original Resident Evil 4 completely renovated the game for me and I loved it. I played Resident Evil 4 on my Playstation 2, and Resident Evil 5 would be the first version of the game in the "next generation" consoles, I hope this game with some suspicion.

I remember drooling over the graphics in the trailer, which was launched shortly after the end of RE4. Although it was a few years ago, and the graphics have improved over time, of course, I was still waiting to see what the geniuses at Capcom could come to graphic for my Resident Evil starving eyes to feast on.

I was not disappointed, as my first impression when I got the game in which the presentation was smooth and the game's graphics are very impressive. Some of the best I've seen in the 360 in fact. This this, I was a little unsure of the game itself, for starters. I thought he was a little slow and had too much space large type on the screen. I also the thought of moving to goal was a bit slow and frustrating, therefore. So, although initially I was pleased graphically, in terms of gameplay I was a little dissatisfied.

However, having persevered in the first hour or two, my opinion changed completely. I got used to the controls and system menu again and also became acquainted with a new system of interaction with your partner. This game can be played entirely on co-op mode, a nice touch to it can enjoy this great game with a good friend (or even a complete stranger if you will).

On the subject of your partner, Sheva, which can sometimes be a nuisance as it will take before things get to them, use their first aid supplies in your way and block your view on occasion. With That said, it will save the skin in more than one occasion so I tend to forgive. It makes for an interesting relationship and colorful, and that one minute you'll be cursing it and the next minutes giving praise.

You can choose for your partner to be more offensive or defensive mind, by selecting the attack or the cover, respectively. I opted for she is more defensive, so I could do most of the shots and she would heal if needed. This worked well for me, but you could play game differently if you prefer. To do so, would Sheva attack and let him do the dirty work for you. There are times when you are over-run with enemies but when will they build a team and then thank you that your partner is there to take out his share of bad guys.

Changing the subject back to the graphics, I would like to emphasize that they are really excellent, and sometimes very sublime. The lighting effects at different times of day are very realistic and one of my favorites and atmospheric moments takes place in an underground tunnel, where everything you see is the limited light given by a torch. These all effects help add to the overall atmosphere of the game.

There are a variety of enemies, some more than others and in typical fashion there are some Resident Evil enemies that can take you out with a try. You will find there is a greater enemy to the final Boss type levels and to give it a little more difficult challenge. You tends to have to work out these particular enemy weaknesses, for example, you may target a specific part of your body or how you can work use the environment to get the best of the greatest enemies. Nothing too unfamiliar or confusing, but a worthy challenge and aesthetic treatment awaits you when you arrive these level bosses.

The overall gameplay is a seamless experience with a good combination of normal and times when you are prompted to press certain buttons to avoid the danger of one form or another. This information button can happen at any time, so that keeps you guessing.

The controls are great, and although I found it a bit slow and restrictive in the first time I realized the buttons to refresh the control of Sheva, the weapon of change and the fastest lap, I laughed. It can set a weapon or item at each point in the d-pad, so you just press up, down, left or right to provide it instantly. Something I found very useful during the game.

You will be rewarded for his actions during the game, and the 360 achievements awarded to you is fair and satisfactory. You can expect to get GamerScore a decent if you just complete the game once, but the lovers to get all 1000 points will have to work a little more and complete the game in multiple occasions to tick off every achievement in the list.

longevity of the game is decent for a modern game, but dont get me wrong, it is not Fallout 3. To get just through the story did not take long, maybe 15 to 20 hours or so. There are 6 chapters, each with 3 stages. However, there are plenty return to play in this game, and you'll find you can not do all that we do in a single game through. In addition, the cooperative mode through Xbox Live opens another dimension of the game and added an extra hour of playing time this game.

By the way have not given away the story because I think that just ruined the game for some people, I prefer just to know what is good and the bad of a game, and a general opinion before deciding to buy it. Another way to test the game is a demonstration program on Xbox Live, but be warned that I personally do not really enjoy the demo level but ended up loving the game.

This to me is obvious. Resident Evil 5 is a cracker and therefore a necessity! I think one of the best games available at this time and probably one of the best in the 360 to date. I give 9 / 10.
